Emotions can be thought of as irritations to the body and overstimulation to the mind. When your emotions are stirred up, you become just like a bottle of coca cola, shaken but still closed.
Meditation is like trying hard to calm down the coca cola by never opening the lid. It just gives you the illusion that your emotions have disappeared. Any small event triggering your emotional baggage and you would start needing to do another hour of meditation to cool yourself down. You don’t realize that your internal emotional baggage has Not changed a bit.
Emotional release is like opening the lid of the coca cola. Yes, it is not nice to watch how the coca cola spills over, but it is really the only way to release the pressure that has been build inside the coca cola bottle.
