The Problem With High Blood Pressure

When the blood pressure is constantly high, the heart has to work harder to pump blood. Over the years, the heart muscle gets weakened, leading to heart failure.

The additional pressure on the insides of your arteries is a danger too. High blood pressure can destroy the delicate inner lining of your blood vessels, leaving tiny “pits” where cholesterol can gather, narrowing your vessels even further.

The narrower your blood vessels, the harder your heart has to work adding an additional level of danger.
